Life Just Got 30% Better…

September 30, 2003 - 10:43 pm

No freaking way!!!! How can this be!? The one product that helps me make it through each day has just been improved! No, its not Jack Daniels. My precious Tic-Tacs are now packed full of “More Enjoyable Freshness” and consist of “30% LARGER MINTS” The only downside is a minor boost of .4 calories per serving (which they claim is one mint… yeah right).

Not only am I horribly addicted to Tic-Tacs, but I’m also determined to write a book on how I managed to lose 20 lbs by living off nothing but a healthy dose of Tic-Tacs in bulk via Amazon.com and Diet Pepsi. Move over Dr. Atkins, there’s a new king in town… he just hasn’t inked the book deal yet.

Apple vs. Apple

September 12, 2003 - 6:47 am

The Beatles’ band company, Apple Corps, has sued Apple over the iPod and iTunes Music Store, according to Fox News: ‘The case was apparently filed a short time ago in London’s High Court of Justice, but was just served on Apple Computers in California in the last couple of days.’ Apple has been sued twice before by the company and paid an nearly $50 million in settlements–initially for a trademark settlement on its name and then subsequently when ‘computers starting having music come through attachable speakers’ because it had agreed previously to solely use its brand in the computer business and not to enter the music business under its brand name.

Isn’t this a bit crazy. I mean they already have claimed $50 million in settlements. If anything, the iTMS should sell music, which should be good for a record label… no? And the iPod? How is that wrong? Seriously. Does anyone really confuse the two companies. Are there actually people buying music from the iTMS thinking they’re buying from the Beatles? Sounds crazy to me.

Windows iTunes By End Of Year

- 11:44 am

In his presentation (cached audio stream) at the 2003 Technology Conference, Fred Anderson, Apple’s chief financial officer noted that “the best is yet ahead” as Apple is committed to bringing iTunes to Windows by the end of this calendar year. Apple is hoping the iTMS for Windows stimulates iPod sales, which in turn lures people to the Mac platform. If the performance of the Macintosh version of the online music store is any indication, the Windows version should generate a great deal of revenue and market awareness.

Maybe then Mark will stop going on and on about that damn Windows Media Player.
