Survivor: All-Stars

First the Super Bowl, then an all-star game. “Survivor: All-Stars,” featuring 18 contestants from past editions of the CBS reality series, will premiere after Super Bowl XXXVIII on Sunday, Feb. 1, CBS announced Monday.

As much as I dislike the idea… I know I’ll be watching every episode.

iTunes Sells 1.5 Million Songs During Past Week; Five Times Napster’s First Week Downloads: “Music fans purchased and downloaded 1.5 million songs from Apple’s iTunes® Music Store during the same period that Napster reported selling 300,000 songs during its first week of operation. More than 17 million songs have been purchased and downloaded from the iTunes Music Store since it launched in April 2003. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the iTunes Music Store had more than 80 percent market share of legally purchased downloads last week. “

‘Finding Nemo’ DVD/video sales set new record - Nov. 5, 2003

Animated underwater fish movie ‘Finding Nemo’ took a huge bite out of the home video market with a record 8 million DVD and video sales in its first day at retailers, raising the possibility of shortages, an official with Walt Disney Co. said Wednesday.

“Some of our customers have told us they sold three times what they projected on day one,” he said. “We’re aggressively making as many [copies] as possible, but it is likely that some of our major accounts may go out of stock,” he said.

“Less than a month after Pepsi announced a blockbuster deal to give away 100 million downloads from Apple’s iTunes music service to its customers, McDonald’s is close to a announcing a much bigger deal according to the New York Post.

“In a dramatic move that gives a thumbs up to the music industry’s efforts at creating legal alternatives to file sharing, McDonald’s plans to give away up to 1 billion songs in a marketing campaign, according to sources familiar with the matter.”

Looks like the kids will be getting lots of “Happy Meals” in the coming year…
