Michael Savage on ‘Passion’

“How is it that the most vile films imaginable are being made with little or no protest from the very same organizations attacking Gibson’s artistic creation. Murder, Rape, Drug Usage – all standard fare in a theater near you. No protest about these vile works from these organizations who object to what appears to be 100% biblically correct.

Following the screening of his controversial film, Mr. Gibson asked me what I thought of it. I said, ‘Of course there are going to be those who are going to look to blame the Jewish people, but it is the Romans who flay Jesus nearly to death and who actually crucify him.’ I added, ‘Mel, what are people going to do, stop eating pasta!’ There was then much laughter all around the boardroom. But I repeat, are people to stop eating Italian food because of Pontius Pilate and the Roman sadists? It would be foolish to think so.”

SideTrack

For whatever reason, Apple has never taken full advantage of their laptop trackpads, unlike Windows laptops where users can scroll documents, double-tap, and perform other actions without having to move their cursor all over the screen. SideTrack helps fill the void for OS X users with a System Preferences plug-in that is easy to configure and install. Currently a public beta, but I may hafta check this out, maybe I’l actually use my trackpad for clicking again.

Why Didn’t I Think Of This!?!?!

Ask Wapling of Adland recounts the story of a Swedish ad agency, Cole, Russel & Pryce, who dreamt up the idea to send a real lambs foot to its clients and prospects promoting the agency and its new website. The campaign consisted of two emails and a physical mailing. The first email, showing a picture of a cute lamb, asked recipients to visit the agency’s website ‘for the sake of the lamb.’ The second email showed the lamb with one of its front hoofs cut off. Immediately following the second email, clients and prospect received a same day physical mailing containing a real lamb’s foot.

While the campaign certainly drew attention to the agency, it didn’t go over so well with big client, Vodaphone, who said the ‘campaign showed incredibly bad judgment’ causing the agency to fire founder and Creative Director Olle Sjödén. Oops.

According to an iPodlounge reader, Apple and Target have teamed up to offer US$15 iTunes Music Store gift cards. The new promotion is expected to kick off on Sunday, Feb. 15. As you may recall, Target first started selling Apple’s iPod in October 2002, but later dropped the product due to a dispute with Apple’s reseller contract. In Aprill 2003, the retailer began selling the device again.

A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.

The only question now is whether any of the major news sources we watch everyday will actually report any of it.

Rusty Wallace: Since Bill Elliott’s semi-retired, no one in Nextel Cup is closer in age to Howard Dean than Wallace is. Wallace needs to fire himself up with a Dean-like speech. “Not only are we going to Daytona, we’re going to Rockingham and Vegas and Atlanta and Darlington and Bristol! And then we’re going to the Waldorf-Astoria to take back the Nextel Cup. Yeeeaaaaaaaaaah!”
