Disney Sequels… without Pixar

Walt Disney CEO Michael Eisner has confirmed to Jessica Reif Cohen of Merrill Lynch that the studio has several sequels in the works to films that Pixar has created for the company. The analyst cautions that such sequels could have an ‘adverse impact’ on Pixar. ‘The unproven writing and graphics quality of Disney’s work with computer-guided-image animation may have an unintentional ‘contagion’ impact since consumers may subconsciously associate these films as Pixar product,’ Reif Cohen said in a report Thursday. ‘In addition, too many releases may fatigue CGI’s scarcity value, which has created consumer intrigue for this ‘event’ animation format.’ Her comments mirror those made by Pixar (and Apple) CEO Steve Jobs. ‘We feel sick about Disney doing sequels because if you look at the quality of their sequels… it’s been pretty embarrassing,’ Jobs said during Pixar’s fourth-quarter earnings call in February.

This sucks. Hopefully enough people will read about how stupid Disney is and boycott and of the lame sequels they put out. Unfortunately… I have kids and will probably be shelling out movie ticket money for Monsters Inc. 2, or Another Finding Nemo as soon as they appear, but I won’t like it, I swear.

I Miss PEPSI-iTunes Caps…

New Eric Clapton, Lenny Kravitz, a whole slew of “Live at Billy Bob’s Texas” cd’s, and new Third Day, plus all the stuff still in my “waiting to buy” list. The Pepsi caps were feeding my addiction… now I’m doomed. Dooooomed!! DOOOOOOOOMED!!!!!

Wei Xin, Weighs In On iTunes…

Just a few weeks after telling the world that the iTunes Music Store sells 3.3 million songs in one week, Apple today announced that Founder, one of China’s largest PC makers, will start bundling iTunes with all of its systems beginning next month. Could the numbers climb higher? “Digital music is becoming very important in the Chinese PC market, and Apple’s iTunes is the runaway market leader,” Wei Xin, chairman of Founder Group and Founder Technology, said in a joint press release. “As the first Chinese company to bundle this innovative software with our PCs, we are excited to provide our customers with the world’s best digital music experience.”

How much longer before the critics cry “monopoly!”!?!? Who cares, we’ll all have our ear buds in and won’t hear them anyway!!

CMT Crossroads

I have to admit I wasn’t real thrilled when I watched the first few Crossroads shows. As cool as it sounded to me, I was left unimpressed. The James Taylor thing was just alright, and the Kid Rock and Willie Nelson thing was kinda cool, but when I caught the episode with Travis Tritt and Ray Charles and I was blown away. That was some great music! I immediately scoured the web searching for anyone who might have had the ability to capture the audio and convert it to MP3. I never was successful, and so far I have been left hoping that CMT would maybe, someday release the shows on CD or DVD. The next few shows were boring to me, and I lost interest altogether, until Saturday night. I happened to see a commercial for the latest episode featuring Brad Paisley (whom I’ve listened to quite a bit in the last year) and John Mayer (whose music has also dominated my iTunes playlists). The show was amazing. Awesome guitar playing. Great music. Once again, I will be left scouring the web for some digital music.

PLEASE CMT… RELEASE SOME DVDs!!!!!!

NASA’s Finances in Disarray

Yahoo! News - NASA’s Finances in Disarray; Auditor Departs

As NASA sets course for the moon and Mars, the space agency’s finances are in disarray, with significant errors in its last financial statements and inadequate documentation for $565 billion posted to its accounts, its former auditor reported.

Ouch! I thought my finances were a mess. Maybe they can sell some lots on Mars, or the moon.

Incredible!

The first theatrical trailer for for “The Incredibles,” Pixar’s next major animated film, has been posted online. The trailer, which Pixar and Apple CEO Steve Jobs said would probably be played before ‘Shrek 2′ this summer, can be viewed in small (240×104), medium (320×136), large (480×208), and ‘Incredisize’ (full screen). Interestingly, the ‘Incredisize’ version is only viewable on the iTunes Music Store with iTunes 4.5. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 5, 2004.

Could this be another huge hit? We’ll see… I thought “NEMO” was gonna suck after watching the trailer. LOL

“Is this on??…”

*tap tap*

“I mean, I can break through walls… I just can’t… get … this… on”
