Crazy Times…

In today’s headlines…

Kentucky man faces up to a year in jail for shooting Black Bear in his backyard… Brock says he regrets shooting the bear, but that it was swatting his dogs, and had his horse so spooked he feared it would break its leg.

He says he tried to scare the bear off by banging on his mobile home, and that his wife called the Kentucky Department of Wildlife for advice. In the end, Brock claims the bear left him with no other choice, because it seemed ready to attack.”

On the other hand…

Judge Decries Partial-Birth Abortion Ban… The law is aimed at stopping a procedure, usually performed during the second trimester of pregnancy, in which a fetus is partly delivered, its skull punctured and its brain removed, often by suction.”

This is where the fun begins…

According to Rolling Stone, Microsoft plans to roll out its digital music store on September 2. The store will reportedly offer 600,000 to 700,000 tracks for 99 cents apiece at launch. The publication also reports that Microsoft has made “several overtures” to Apple to make its songs compatible with the iPod but has been rebuffed. “With the ability to funnel 350 million users a month to the store via its Hotmail, Messenger and MSN sites, Microsoft will likely become the number-two player in the market for legally downloaded music and ultimately could challenge Apple’s reign at the top,” Rolling Stone says

Technology is cool… and disposable too!

Pharmacy chain CVS on Thursday said it would offer the world’s first disposable digital camera with a bright color viewing screen that allows consumers to instantly preview pictures.

The camera comes with a 1.4-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) screen that allows users to preview pictures, delete poor images, and re-shoot them to obtain the best shots possible.

Other features include a fully automatic flash, metered exposure control and a 10-second self-timer function.

Consumers can return the camera to CVS stores for processing and receive film-quality prints and a compact disc that allows pictures to be stored or e-mailed, CVS said.

Real Sucks.

Nick Farrell, writing for The Inquirer, has an “interesting” take on Apple fans and the recent Real/Apple petition snafu. “Other people filing comments make the very good point that RealNetworks was hypocritical to demand Apple free up its iPods when its own Rhapsody song shop doesn’t support Macs,” he writes. “The petition was soon taken down and replaced with a comments box, but Apple Zombies insisted on posting joke names and saying Real sucks a lot.”

Hmmm… maybe that’s because THEY DO!!!

Re-born again, again, one more time…

I’ve installed Mac OS X Server on my G4 and since then, I’ve been meaning to set up my blog again, but haven’t had any time. Besides, I wanted to read a little so I knew what I was doing. That hasn’t happened, and I still have no idea what I’m doing, but I managed to get this up and running again. Mac OS X Server is cool, but I’m jealous still of those using Movable Type. I can’t wait for Tiger and the built in Blog.
