More wind…

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg yesterday unveiled a plan to make the city a showcase of “clean energy” by placing windmills and solar panels on skyscrapers, bridges and coastlines throughout the five boroughs. But after analysts realized that this massive project would still fall woefully short of meeting the city’s energy needs, the mayor expanded his proposal to cover city residents as well. “To reach our goal of sustainable energy, we need everyone’s input, literally. If you can ambulate, you can generate.” via globalwarming.org

Maybe that’s because windmills are simply ineffective? Then again, if local government agencies can shove them down the throat of people like us, I’m sure they can do whatever they want in the big city, with a little money and help from other politicians.

Things

I’ve been searching for “Things” for quite some time.

I’ve been through so many “to-do” apps I can’t even begin to count them all. I’ve never really had one stick. Today, I was trying to catch up on my RSS feeds in Reader and thanks to Sean Sperte… I tried out Things. This is the application I’ve been looking for… it has everything I’ve wanted plus an app for my iPhone too!

Dear Adobe…

I could’ve used this site more than once…

Shoulda bought a Zune…

I’ve been missing the Colbert Report lately but I saw this on Engadget… funny stuff.

“I knew I should have gotten a Zune! They can’t kill me… or do anything else.”

Paris making sense?

It’s hard for me to watch Paris Hilton be the one to say this… but is it so hard to believe that maybe both sides have some decent ideas? Is it that far fetched to think we can work together to solve some of these problems? I still say we vote on a President without a running mate and the loser gets the VP gig. That’s just my opinion, I may be wrong, plus there’s not any rich people or various lucrative businesses knocking on my door to give me piles of cash either…

Today’s Reading…

DailyLit delivers literature in installments, via RSS. I’m gonna give it a try, since I spend at least an hour a day staring a Google Reader anyway…

The Idea?

We got the idea for DailyLit after the New York Times serialized a few classic works in special supplements a few summers ago. We wound up reading books that we had always meant to simply by virtue of making them part of our daily routine of reading the newspaper. The only thing we do more consistenly than read the paper is read email. Bingo! We put together a first version and began reading “War of the Worlds” and “Pride and Prejudice”. We showed it to friends, added more books and features at their request, and presto, DailyLit was born.

Dance or Die

The new Family Force 5 release is available August 19th… ‘Dance Or Die’. The press release sounds exactly like what I expected and I can’t wait! (check out the 2 track EP right now on iTunes)

According to the press release, “The album oozes with over-the-top illustrations, charging out of the gate with funky rhythms, percolating club grooves, undeniably infectious hooks and instantaneous sing-a-longs. Imagine an inventive evolution of the band’s eye-opening ‘Business Up Front, Party In The Back‘ blended with Prince getting down at a Daft Punk concert where Michael Jackson busts out the moonwalk in the center of the dance floor.”

iriver 3.3 inch Spinn media player

I absolutely love my iPhone/iPod… but, I have to say the UI on the iriver’s 3.3-inch Spinn media player with AMOLED display looks pretty sweet. Check out the video here.
